THERMOMAX®RM 160
THERMOMAX® RM 160 is a woven glass-fibre mesh with an alkali-resistant polymer coating and a mass per unit area of 160 g/m². It is embedded in cement-based render; it reinforces the render layer, distributes surface stresses, prevents cracking and gives the system impact resistance.
It is a component of external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) and is used together with THERMOMAX® PLAST 65 base coat. The product is assessed within the scope of EAD 040083-00-0404; its mechanical properties are determined in accordance with EN 13496.
Fields of Application
• Reinforcement of the render layer in external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS)
• In cement-based renders applied over EPS, XPS and mineral wool boards
• As diagonal reinforcement at the corners of windows and doors
• Prevention of cracking in interior and exterior renders
Advantages
• Its alkali-resistant coating ensures it does not lose strength over time in cement-based render
• High tensile strength distributes stresses in the render layer and prevents cracking
• Increases the impact resistance of the system
• Flexible structure adapts easily to the surface; easy to cut and lay
• Does not rot; resistant to weathering
